Apple is projected to launch iPhones in Korea soon after the Korean Communications Commissions announced in a statement on November 11 that it has awarded Apple a license to sell iPhones in Korea, Reuters reported on November 18. By obtaining the license, Apple's iPhone is granted the right to collect information on locations and provide location-based services, such as maps and direction finders. Apple's iPhone reportedly will hit the market by late November, 2009. Apple stated that the company is in talks with two Korean leading telecom operators KT and SK Telecom over iPhone sales in Korea, but no decision has been made yet. Further details, however, were not yet disclosed. Meanwhile, China Mobile's chairman Wang Jianzhou reaffirmed that the company is still negotiating with Apple for selling iPhones in China but he declined to disclose any details, the Sohu News reported on November 19.
